Cocaine has low calories, reduces appetite, and increases metabolic activity. That's a weight-loss supplement.

Nah, I'm just arguing that it's both reasonable and fair to do unto others. Here's some more evidence:

I'm sure it's not "xenophobic moral panic" when China does it though, right?

TikTok, at the end of the day, is just a kind of printing press.

No, TikTok is essentially digital opium. And China itself has confirmed that reality by 1) restricting their citizens' daily access and 2) significantly filtering the content they can see on it:

It would only be fair of the US to follow China's example of protecting its citizens from numbing out on TikTok digital garbage. We should most certainly should follow suit with an equivalently restrictive measure.

I feel ya, I used to have one of these:

And these:

Had the N900 and N95 as well. Back then it was easy to have a cool/unique phone because carriers weren't on top of their hardware lineups. Now everything is a boring rounded-corners slate. Even Sony gave up with the squared-edges on their Xperia lineup. I'm optimistic that rollable screens will bring back some real innovation beyond just clam-shells.

But the sun does affect how well and how long they sleep

Yes, the sun coming up an hour later means less light peeking into the room and more sleep cycle time. Big collective win for night owls.

As it's a struggle already, getting up an hour earlier is going to be harder for them

Times are changing, literally. Nice thing about all this remote work is you can be a night owl on the East Coast while everyone else is a morning lark on the West Coast. For me waking up is never an issue, I just get moving. But the night owl schedule is where everything naturally settles.

You're like the auto mechanic I talked to that was bemoaning this generation and how automotive tech has basically "stayed the same" since the 50s... "MacPherson struts, you ever heard of those boy!? Yeah - invented in the 50s!" Nothing wrong with a fresh take on an old topic.
