It can be incredibly stressful even right now. I had my bank freeze my accounts because they believe I deposited a fraudulent check (I hadn't). They were incredibly unhelpful during the entire process necessitating hours on hold, going to the branch multiple times and eventually they threatened to close all my accounts. Took about a week to get sorted while I had no access to my funds, including direct withdrawal bills like my mortgage payment.

And you are correct... I had no rights. They had all the power, and they knew it and acted accordingly.

I would assume existing models are calling 1.5C a crucial threshold based on the current baseline and so we are not actually any closer just because we move the baseline back.

The link between saturated fat and LDL cholesterol is extremely clear. Far from coming from low-quality studies, the relationship has been observed in RCT metabolic ward studies. The best data you can get on the acute effects of diet and we are talking hundreds of these experiments all observing the same relationship.

Does high LDL cause heart disease? That is probably less clear, I am not a scientist, so I really don't know what the latest is on this. LDL is present in Atherosclerotic plaques so it's not crazy to think it plays a role. If I was to guess, as a complete non-expert, low-fiber intake and inflammation probably play a role in turn LDL into atherosclerosis.

Sure, crypto exposes you to potential bad actors in the form of scammers, criminals, etc. Fiat exposes you to potential bad actors in the form of banks, governments, police, etc.

So, whichever represents a bigger threat to you is largely a question of circumstance.
