I also calculate six months from August as 8+6=14mod12. I wonder if anyone does it differently, this seems like the most plausible technique.

Yes, but some narratives are more closely tied to the racist and regressive views of their current funder

dude, you could ask me, a grown adult, what I did last week and get a similar lack of recall

This is true but it is not the whole story. Both establishment parties have presided over and encouraged the financialization of real estate. The ludicrous CEO-to-worker pay multiple wasn’t voted for by anyone.

Yes, I think so. When you read a book you spend a long time with the ideas it contains. You think about the book when you go about your day: primed by what you're reading, you see new connections. You are in conversation with the book. Maybe parts of the book seep into your dreams. Years later, you might remember what you were doing when you read a particular passage.

Much of this is because reading a book takes time.

this would be a lot more comforting if the US government wasn’t currently run by some the worst people on the planet

I am very optimistic about people using LLMs to explore their medical issues. Human bodies are complex and doctors are time- and intelligence- limited. An LLM can be a really useful partner.

Problem with events like this is that they affect tens of thousands of people all at once. The first 1% of people will buy all of the available air conditioners. This happened in Australia in 2019: we had a huge bushfire with smoke affecting ~600K people. The available air filters sold out in hours.

they're reasonably popular in Australia. They have done a good job of marketing their station wagons/estates to the road-biking community

If you are keen for a machine and you like it diluted, I recommend the Moccamaster. It’s a good-looking classic machine that you could definitely sell.

For a similar coffee with more manual work, get a Chemex

I guess this is what happens when you get a government composed of ignorant assholes. These times are challenging for those of us who believe in democracy.

It will be a lot harder to convince voters when he's gone... if the US still has elections
