I do understand how do you feel. I quit my PhD, it was crazy.
Then the life was better, having normal jobs. Now I have another very difficult situation in life and there is no chance to get professional help. At least some friends are helping.

Amazing work, about amazing devices. I owned Psion Siena and Revo and both were much ehead of the competitive devices. And i remember installing some tool for keyboard localization, that used some low level hacking to achieve that. What a great time .
There is one major flaw in the presented approach. The base of any hearing aid is frequency compression (in each frequency band), as the hearing impairment induce, that a patient loss the ability to hear the soft sounds, but the loud sound cannot be amplified, as the threshold of pain remains the same. Usually, the gain curve resembles two linear lines. Feel free to reach out [redacted] if you wanna discuss the topic in more depth (i designed some algorithms for hearing aids)
