Considering I'm still playing the newest games on my ten year old LGA1366 setup, yes. Overclocked Xeon X5675, Nvidia 1070, 16GB RAM, and SSD. Currently playing the new Doom completely maxed out at 2560x1600.
The killer app for VR is going to be escapism. There is going to be a future where you're going to purchase experiences from companies. There will be an underground, sex will be huge, travel, alter egos, just like in sci-fi movies. Just wait until VR is like The Beam/Matrix, where you actually feel and sense everything happening. People will be jacked in for most of their life. I envision this being particularly popular for people nearing the end of their lives, or disabled & crippled.
"Each of the city’s five boroughs registered gains in population. The Bronx saw the largest increase, up 3.4 percent, followed by Brooklyn (3.1 percent), Manhattan (2.7 percent), and Queens (2.2 percent); Staten Island showed the smallest gain (1.6 percent) over the 99-month period."
Is it a whitepaper? I bet it's a whitepaper that I absolutely can NOT live without.
Unless you're purposely hiding yourself from the internet(I don't want to deal with you anyhow). Then why can't I just discover you on Google for my target?
Or are you selling me something that I had no idea I needed?
I will guarantee that for anyone who calls me unsolicited to sell something, I will do everything in my power never to buy your products.
Cold calls like will likely get forwarded to our internal extension that relays to "Lenny". The longest we've had someone on the line talking to the bot is currently at 8:37 on the leaderboard. :D
I've written about this many times in responses here on HN. Removing myself from Facebook, Reddit, Twitter, and what not, was the best thing I've ever done. For any remaining sites, I've installed comment blockers, so I don't have a chance to get sucked into negativity. Someday HN will be on the chopping block, but for now, it provides real dialogue. There really is nothing of value gained from wasting time on those sites. Now I have more time to read, hike, finish personal projects, whatever I want. Dating since Tinder has been completely ruined. Relationships are disposable, while everyone is just looking for the next big thing.
I'm really looking forward to a post social network world. Though I fear something even more addictive, and destructive will come around.
Then what was the point of your original post? If you're happy with what you're doing(or not doing), then good! Otherwise it sounds like you do wish you were working on these ideas, and are looking for some reassurance of it.
That attitude is fine if you're content making someone else's ideas. If you've got lots of big idea, do something about it. Who cares if it takes you months or years of dedicated work? If that's your hobby, then what is the issue? How much time is spent watching television? Cut that in half, and build your big idea.
