My pet conspiracy theory about these leaks is that the military uses WarThunder as a training sim, and every now and then someone notices the physics/render is off so they "leak" the specs knowing some gaming nerd is going to fix it for them.

AI ripped the cover off of a dirty secret of higher education:

The bulk of assignments are useless busywork using outdated formats, and educators and educational institutions haven't been motivated to change it.

Instead of realizing this and embracing the theories and models of newer education sciences, most institutions have become near ideologues with their inertia.

yt-dlp has the ability to log into sites. You can give it your username and password, or hand it a persistent session cookie extracted from your browser. If logging into a premium account gives it access to higher bitrate streams, it can select those.

IME the only thing Premium is good for is getting rid of most ads and enabling background playback in YouTube's official app.

I've heard this multiple times over the years. I offer an alternative explanation:

I always have uBO enabled with a bunch of extra rulesets for curtailing tracking and "annoyances". If I turn that off, I get weird behaviours in YouTube (and other sites). Re-enable it and I get back a smooth, reliable site.

Facebook, eBay, newspaper websites, Amazon, et al all demonstrate similar behaviour: slownews and broken behaviour without uBO, performant and reliable with.

Maybe it is coder bias unintentional or otherwise.

Or maybe it's the ever-bloating workload of user-tracking and ads causing problems.

Then the user comes in with DarkReader, Dark Background With Light Text, their browser's integrated reader mode, or some other client-side stylesheet override and erases your effort.

The site is a good example of aesthetics taking precedent over accessibility. No matter what slider position I chose, I couldn't get an eye-friendly hue with good contrast.

Then I toggled on DarkReader and immediately got what I needed.
