One “trick” nowadays is to just do a thing for the sake of doing the thing. I draw. Not to post my drawings to social media, not to try to get income from paid commissions, but rather just to enjoy the act of drawing. I have worked some places where a significant amount of business logic lived in database functions and triggers and, hoo boy, that was really hard to reason about.
