The marketing space is filled with all kinds of "plug and play" SaaS providers which offer detailed customer journey data and sometimes it's just straight up easier to add an "accept all" consent banner than to try and allow for hot loading specific 3rd party libraries based on customized consent options.
Is it the right thing to do? In my opinion, no. But I can also understand a situation where decisions were made on marketing tech before understanding the technical privacy implications. I've always thought it would be really interesting to write a show where the characters speak in a way that mimics how real human being communicate with each other on a daily basis.
It might end up being really bad and hard to watch but I think it could be a refreshing alternative to what we have now where every character is able to give an on-the-spot motivational speech with the confidence of someone who rehearsed it for months before delivering it.
Just a real fictional story that includes realistic human dialog.
I hate to be the one to break this to you but GA usually isn't as invasive as you seem to think. It's mainly tracking things like time on a page, links clicked, bounce rates, etc.
It's not deep scanning your hard drive to try and figure out your SSN or medical history like some people think.
The biggest reason is that google doesn't provide the utility that each of these individual libraries brings to the table. Even if they did, there's nothing that says the total "omega tracking bundle" that you'd be downloading from Google would be any smaller than the aggregated total of these libraries. You'd definitely have fewer network requests but I'm not sure that would really move the needle as much as you'd want.
