Yeah RemoteID is trivial to spoof using an ESP32. Most hobby pilots I know simply don't comply with RemoteID. And bad actors certainly won't purchase a $75 device to add to their drone.

It does become a bit more difficult with consumer grade off the shelf drones because it's built in. Still defeatable by the determined of course.

By the nature of even existing you do things every single day that others would consider harmful to them. This isn't a personal attack fyi.

edit: I don't believe it's ridiculous or pedantic, but you're certainly welcome to your opinion.

Nope, completely with you on this. The logical conclusion of banning everything dangerous is everything in existence being banned. There are many things people do that I think are dumb or dangerous but that doesn't mean I think they should be banned from doing them.

This is why I don't mess with any of Google's AI offerings right now. Losing access to my Gmail (technically a google apps for our domain) account would be devastating. I think the risk that some google ai decides I'm abusing their ai and bans me is too high.

Do you have some impersonated artist names I would be able to look up? This isn't a thing I have (knowingly) run into on Spotify yet and I'm really curious to see more

I wear earplugs and play music via Cardo while riding nearly every single day. It's fine.

Let's be realistic - noise cancelling isn't a perfect technology. I rode with my AirPods for a short period of time and could still hear everything I needed to. The only reason I switched is because they're uncomfortable in a helmet.

Yes, I would. Because it’s just words. Beyond that, it’s words you don’t even have to look at. You would be choosing to repeatedly read the list of WiFi networks.

I know multiple people who have given their agents human-like names and refer to them as if they're nurturing a coworker. It creeps me out and I haven't really brought it up with anyone as I can't articulate why it gives me the creeps like it does.

> They're not going to find out until I move out anyway.

Maybe. Probably, given what you've described. But you're still relying on an assumption and the behavior of someone else. It could be sold again tomorrow to an owner who has a real problem with those sorts of changes and it would be out of your control.

I mean..if it mostly happens in families that does mean it's safer outside

I don’t believe the juice (some speeding tickets) is worth the squeeze (surveillance dragnet covering the country).

Speed cameras or not, what you described will always happen. I would prefer no evil instead of a tiny evil however.

I don't want it to beep at all. I don't want a reminder. The car is property of me, not the nanny state.

I think 2 things may be combined here.

'GitHub Enterprise Server' is hosted on your own resources, not their cloud. It makes sense that it wouldn't have the same downtime as their cloud, but that's hardly relevant.

'GitHub Enterprise Cloud' is their offering hosted on their own resources and what I suspect most enterprise customers use. It's what I at $extremelylargecompany use. It follows the same uptime/downtime as their public non-enterprise offering.

Bummer. Welp, still works for now. I'm sure there are very similar apps as well.

I've been using Pass4Wallet for the last few years to create Wallet entries for local clubs I'm apart of.

It's actually better than native passes in some cases because you can add custom info to the entry, like a gate code. It's really flexible in terms of barcodes, QR codes, etc as well.

Great app I'll probably continue using, I'm not confident Apple will allow the amount of customizability it allows.

That was my first instinct as well but I'm not sure how true it really is.

Many companies exist now whose main product is supply chain vetting and scanning (this article is from one such company). They are usually the ones writing up and sharing articles like this - so the community would more than likely hear about it even if nobody was actually using the package yet.

There is a massive difference between leaving the door open so people can come in and talk versus paying no attention to them commandeering your dangerous tools. Again I think you're overthinking it.

I believe you may be overthinking it a tad. I take it just to mean "work in the open".

As an example - at my home unless the weather is poor I always leave my garage door up when working on something, whether vehicles or other projects.

This is mainly for sunlight and fresh air but the end result is the same. Any neighbor or passerby can see what I'm doing, and in rare cases may actually be able to help or offer advice.

Chrome has had WebUSB since 2017. I really appreciate it for one-off configurators and those types of tools.
