CEOs who think that excavators replace their hand-diggers are just bad CEOs

> When did the gaming industry become a place where what people inside the company want matters more than the end user?

Happened everywhere. Now if you run an intense company where people are expected to work hard towards ambitious goals or be fired, you’re “toxic”

He went to MIT and was employed at Jane Street, this doesn’t mean he was a Steve Jobs talent but he is certainly high IQ.

They're going to 1) rent it out as a paid API and/or 2) let you use it to create ads on Google platforms like YouTube, perhaps customized to the individual user

It's funny to hear things like projects I saw start, turn 25. At that time, essentially nothing in consumer computing was 25, so 25 sounds absolutely ancient, like hearing about a 15,000 year old temple. So hearing about a project I saw start turn 25 is like hearing about a temple I saw the groundbreaking on turn 15,000.

The entire concept of what a “computer” is in people’s minds comes from Steve Jobs’ evangelism of these ideas. While you can be certain that the transistor would have been invented by someone if not Shockley, computing would be very different (perhaps better, perhaps not) without Jobs.

I thought this was going to be about Instagram making money by making people, especially women, feel worse about themselves. Turns out there are multiple insecurity industries operating today...

“The law” is decided by the most powerful people in society. Why do you think weed dealers have done 20 years in jail while Purdue Pharmaceuticals executives paid a $3 million fine for killing 500,000 people and counting? It’s not the weed dealers writing that law.
