Talking specifically about censorship, all governments have been guilty of it. Many websites were blocked under Congress rule, the Congress government even banned books like Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie. Even the courts are no better and are wont to censor websites based on the judge's whim.

Some of your points make sense but some don’t. Pension funds in the US don’t invest in startups. Also founders of most American tech companies had a pretty comfortable upbringing. Most founders like Mark Zuckerberg or Travis Kalanick come from well-to-do families. So comfortable life doesn’t explain the risk aversion of Europeans.

That’s not accurate. It’s easy to change jobs on an H1B visa. I did it 6 months ago, the processing took only two weeks.

Also it’s wrong to say that you wouldn’t have the same prospects as the local people. I’m a foreigner on an H1B visa but I make $400K/year and never felt disadvantaged in the slightest compared to Americans.

Most salaries reported in Glassdoor are several years old as Zuhayeer said. However, Glassdoor doesn’t even adjust them for inflation. So any statistic based on them will be horribly inaccurate. From personal experience too I can tell you that levels.fyi is far more accurate than Glassdoor.

P.S. I’d also like to thank Zuhayeer for building levels.fyi. It’s an awesome tool and helped me greatly in negotiating.

Nobody is talking about revenge. However, what I oppose is victim blaming. I constantly see Hindus getting blamed but without any acknowledgement of the much larger monstrosities Muslims inflicted on them. Why is that discussion missing?

You're wrong in thinking that just because a community is a minority they must be subject to persecution there. That's not necessarily true. If that was the case then Muslim population in India wouldn't have gone up from 9% to 14%. Also Hindus are a majority in India but still Hindus of Indian Kashmir were ethnically cleansed.

Also why should the treatment of Hindu minorities in Pakistan and Bangladesh shouldn't be up for discussion? All of these are part of the same historical narrative. Just because Muslims created a separate country and expelled most Hindus from there doesn't mean we should stop talking about it.

So talking about the harms of ethnic cleansing is moping in your book? This is an attitude I constantly see among Indian liberals. They ignore all the injustices inflicted on Hindus. Would you consider talking about the Holocaust as moping?

Hindu right talks about Kashmiri Pandits because nobody else does. Can you tell me why we must keep silent about their ethnic cleansing?
