It's hard not to feel sympathetic for any group of civilians subject to air bombing. In WWII this happened mainly in Germany and Japan, which were massively punished after 1941, specially in 1944 and 1945, when virtually no bombs fell in allied territory, and they were a punching bag for the allies.
