Ask HN: Should I learn Angular in 2021?
My dilemma comes from the recent State of JS survey (https://2020.stateofjs.com/en-US/technologies/front-end-frameworks/)

Depends on what you want. It surely will stay relevant for many years, and angular jobs will not go away anytime soon.
If you are interested in it or you find a job that requires it, just learn it. It's not like it's gonna take a year to learn it. IMO if you are a SWE, it takes maybe a week or even less, and you will be ready for most angular jobs.
But be ready for them to expect 5 years of it on your resume anyways.
I mean, but why?! 5 years of Angular seems too much for even anyone closely following the trends, don't you think?
Negotiating tactic. They'll hire someone with 1 year but offer much lower than the listed price because "they wanted 5 years"
Thank you for the assurance.
The way I think about it is the same as "should I learn Java in 2021". It's not fun, it's not cool, but there'll be work in it for the foreseeable future. If that's enough is up to you.
I work at a bank and we are not gonna ditch angular this decade. Unfortunately.

didnt everybody switch to react a few years ago?
Did they? I should closely follow these trends from now on.
