What sets this apart from other clients? Aren't they all trying to be simple and elegant?
For me, the first time I looked at the Cinny code base I was immensely pleased at how nice it was. I had never looked at MobX before and I instinctively understood what was going on.
Actually using Cinny was also a pleasant experience, though its feature parity with Element was severely lacking at the time. From what I gather, it's getting better every day, while Element seems to be just gathering weird cruft and rearranging concepts (spaces, threads, etc.) without really addressing any of the UX complaints I and others have. Cinny feels polished and professional, albeit underpowered, while other clients (FluffyChat, Nheko, Element, Hydrogen) feel very amateur and/or "designed by developers" (vs "designed by designers") to me.
