As a person who also hates the stupid split screen, I think you will like https://bangle.io , it is WYSIWYG local note taking app.

It saves notes in markdown but provides you with a pretty interface. The goal of this project is to provide a nice interface like notion while keeping the data in users machine in a human readable format.

This popup style exists in every browser (The site memes.example.com wants show you notifications), so how is it any more noisy if we allow other things to also prompt you for confirmation. To put it in other words, this will have no effect on the popup/prompt noisiness that you hate.

Also FYI, these prompts are only shown when a user interacts with the website.

It is actually sad that other browsers are not going ahead supporting this API. The authors of this spec are really trying hard that other browsers also move forward with this API, but the maintainers of the other browsers confusingly think this is a threat to the web ecosystem.

I got tired of the terrible split screen markdown note taking apps. So built myself bangle.io [1] , a WYSIWYG note taking web app that is completely local and saves notes directly in markdown format in your hard drive.
