i like this concept, and i think this is the end goal for "ai". not some assistant/person-like chatbot, but a tool that can adapt to you by allowing you to do a lot of externalised processing, reducing the bandwidth between information and understanding.
the question is are the suggestions enabled by default? i know it’s meant to be on device but it feels like a LOT of data being sucked in just for suggestions
precisely this. once someone figures out how to get something like GPT integrated with actual products like smart home devices and the same access levels as siri/google assistant, it will be the true voice assistant experience everyone has wanted.
siri is honestly only good for basic question/answers. like "how is the weather going to be later" or "play X song", or "how old is X". i wish they integrated LLMs into personal assistants to truly have a conversational type experience
the thing is, even if you "own" your data you still need to give it to companies to use their product. unless everyone runs software locally, in which case the majority of the populace needs to learn how to use devices rather than falling for the trashy "itjustworks™" chromebooks and convenience devices that milk them for data profits whilst appearing cheaper and better to integrate into their lives.
especially with google - you cant run services like theirs locally really, and even if you request your data, you cant ever really find out how they use it or what they have done with it. its the illusion of ownership. data isnt ownable. its simply transferable.
