I held the 'upgrade' from 7 to 10 for more than a decade, when I did I had to remove a lot of stuff to get back my baseline usability, so once more unto the breach when I get around doing that methinks.

Most people are so bombarded with ads on the web that they scarcely think it weird that their OS does the same, anyone who cares about this has been able to do something about it a long time ago, I have never seen an ad on my windows 10 installation.

This is tangentially related at best but I always found it amusing that a forum for founders and populated mainly by pampered white-collar workers happens to be one of the hot-spots of revolutionary sentiment in the interweb, very ironic.
