I wonder if Second Life/OpenSim would join this soon

I completely agree with you except I don't begrudge the Utopian streak in people. Its people who are never satisfied, no matter how good they have it, that make the slow progress to a better future. I think never being able to be satisfied is simultaneously the worst and best part of the human condition

While its good that you're willing to compromise in a reasonable manner, I don't think it has particular relevance to the point that advertisements in any form are most likely to be about something you won't go looking for yourself. There are even some companies with no advertisement spending because their product is so essentially useful that people will seek it out themselves.

I suppose its possible that you're just aware of more nuance in food-related things and that an average consumer like me would call those documentaries okay too.

Anecdotally, I think most people consider themselves the average and judge others against it. Confident people judge themselves to be a bit above average and insecure people judge themselves to be a bit below average.

The study seems to align with this anecdote.

To agree with your reproduction points, I'd bring to attention the Lesbian-only women communes started during the height of the feminist movement that are now dying out with hardly anyone to continue the ideology.

Appreciate the work done by the journalists to show these discrepancies to Google. They obviously fixed it as one would expect.

It is worth noting though that this discrepancy would have been much easier to spot by someone on the other side of the aisle. Maybe Google should put a small rotating committee of paid employees to audit these blocklists. It seems a small cost in exchange for avoiding way too much PR drama.

I think people who don't care for long term investments like this are afraid of the idea that the world will go on without them just as well as it is now. They believe in their fear that some catastrophy bigger than their own death must be coming or what was the point of their life at all? The world was fine before you and it will be fine after you. Endeavours like these are the only worthwhile contributions we have to make towards the future.

I can't speak with any authority on Clubhouse but I imagine it uses mobile numbers to create a social graph exactly like Signal does. A robust social graph seems like an important prerequisite to any successful social network and our phonebooks are one of the oldest social graphs present.
