At which point is the MITM happening? What I mean is: browser → Cloudflare server → cloudflared on my server → web service. Is TLS only from browser to Cloudflare server, or is it browser to cloudflared?

Disappointing. Hoped modular means I can attach a sliding keyboard.

Is there one that supports MS RDP or FreeRDP? For me that would be quite an improvement, if the people who need support don't need to install anything and it's built-in in their OS. The other issue with RDP/FreeRDP/TeamViewer alternatives for me is that people are behind routers with dynamic IPs, and certainly not capable of setting up a dynds server or firewall settings or port forwarding.

So TeamViewer-like ID system + RDP in open source?

I had a Framework 13 (Intel, 11th gen) running Windows, the battery lasted 3.5h – streaming a movie (reproducible). The other major issue was the fan constantly running on max, I didn't have a laptop fan that loud for 15 years.

Before having several loops with customer support, I tried ever forum post, all options, settings, tricks etc. Then I end it in for repair, the final summary: Everything works as expected.

So I returned it. I tried another time with Framework 13 (Intel, 12th gen) and that showed exactly the same behaviour, so I again returned it :(

I want to love Framework, for me I clearly see a huge value in repairability: I'm having a Lenovo Ideapad for 5 years now, there was some dirt under the keys, so I tried (by documentation) to remove the key cap and destroyed it by doing so. Then I wanted to replace the keyboard, and by doing so I destroyed the connector to the keypad. I'm clearly not a hardware guy, but I've been repairing my devices (PC, phone) for decades now, and I never struggled as much as I did with the Ideapad.

I plan to give Framework 13 (Intel, Ultra) another shot, because they finally have the 61Wh battery in the first CPU tier. But I fear it won't make a difference as Framework remains ignorant about their broken power management (horrible battery, fan noise, heating up).

Ah shouldn't be an issue that agents have internet access... What could possibly go wrong?

500$/7y < 250$/2y

So yeah, seen on the expected life time, it's a budget phone.

Looks like 2024 won't be the year of the Linux Desktop after all :D

There are already phones focusing on repairability.

The first issue is solved by Quest 3: 1) calibration is a matter of seconds, 2) it remembers all previously calibrated spots, so I basically never need to calibrate.

Yes, you need about 2m² space if you want to move/do fitness, but that's something no VR can solve.

For two friends of mine it's BeatSaber for years running strong. I haven't explored that enough on my Quest 3 yet to say I'm hooked, but I can imagine it happening.

For me it's (3D) movies/shows: I generally don't watch movies, I am more a TV show guy. But I'm blown away by 3D movies. I don't like cinemas either, so for me the killer app is "home cinema". Also started to watch 2D movies/shows on it and the "huge screen" is amazing. Agreed an actual home cinema would give me the same effect, but the Quest is a lot more flexible, portable and smaller.

I want a rootable phone with a physical keyboard, and every time my current one gets old I hope it won't be the last one ever produced.

Firefox 3. I easily had 1500 tabs. Don't get why every browser afterwards, including FF, including plug-ins and tab unloading etc is not capable of this anymore.

Crazy idea, but maybe inheritance is flawed? What would happen if there wouldn't be any inheritance at all, the money goes to the state and in return gives people a basic income and a lump sum when you turn 18?
