Here's where I'm missing understanding: for decades the idea of neural networks had existed with minimal attention. Then in 2017 Attention Is All You Need gets released and since then there is an exponential explosion in deep learning. I understand that deep learning is accelerated by GPUs but the concept of a transformer could have been used on much slower hardware much earlier.
The job and stock market believe most software development companies/verticals are ~25-50% less valuable than they were about a year ago. What do you think, is the restructuring of market dynamics currently underpriced or overblown?
Does anyone today think their communication is truly private? Encryption means very little when you hold zero-day exploits and as we’ve seen there are plenty of those.
What I don’t understand about policy violations is why Google never warns the user before banning. A simple alert or email would reduce so much frustration on the part of users and so much overhead for Google.
ToS change frequently and it’s not really fair to assume the user knows what is and is not correct use of tokens.
Pretty sure insider trading on prediction markets is a feature not a bug. These cases are laughable compared to the true size of insider trading volume on platforms like Kalshi.
The whole article reads as virtue signaling to me. Anthropic already has large defense contracts. Their models are already being used by the military. There's really no statement here.
So far my experience with skills is that they slow down or confuse agents unless you as the user understand what the skill actually contains and how it works. In general I would rather install a CLI tool and explain to the agent how I want it used vs. trying to get the agent to use a folder of instructions that I don't really understand what's inside.
This is awesome, thanks for sharing. Seems especially well suited to phone cancellations but imagine negotiations being somewhat dicey due to commitments required. What model are you using for voice? Do you let the user select gender? Do you provide a summary to the user of the conversation after it’s done?
It definitely feels like Claude is pulling ahead right now. ChatGPT is much more generous with their tokens but Claude's responses are consistently better when using models of the same generation.
Thanks for sharing. Is your goal to make this a paid service eventually? I ended up doing link shortening via Cloudflare Workers recently but I think Bitly premium would be the direct paid competitor to this?
The dataset claims there are significantly more Citibank locations than McDonalds worldwide which I don’t think can be correct?
It also lists over 56,000 Wildberries worldwide but a quick Google search shows they are a large online retailer. I wonder what is going on with the brand POIs…
In terms of useful AI agents, Siri/Apple Intelligence has been behind for so long that no one expects it to be any good.
I used to think this was because they didn’t take AI seriously but my assumption now is that Apple is concerned about security over everything else.
My bet is that Google gets to an actually useful AI assistant before Apple because we know they see it as their chance to pull ahead of Apple in the consumer market, they have the models to do it, and they aren’t overly concerned about user privacy or security.
Yeah, Oracle’s free tier is much more generous than any other cloud provider. They’ve offered that amount of ram for at least a couple years now but we’ll see.
