eh, I think not. There is a reason why they resize the photos.
To save space. Even at facebook scale the amount of space they save by doing this must be enormous.
Additionally, images used in AI are usually scaled down a lot more, 224x224 for something like resnet50. which means that they do not need your high quality original and the smaller one they generated are fine.
yeah, you have GPU like chips being developed by a lot of companies invested in AI. From server chips for training, down to cell phone chips for cheap inference.
I am really hoping to see AMD entering the battlefield. AMD GPUs are more than capable of handling the workload it is just a software problem.
No tensorflow does not allow you to do that.
Tensorflow differentiate a TF graph.
Flux differentiate Julia's IR.
Tensorflow has OP(eration)s that are differentiable that you can compose and that's it. If you want to implement something that is going to be differentiable you need to implement it using Tensorflow OPs or add your own OPs to [tensorflow] with their gradient.
With Flux you can take code written by a random guy on the internet that never thought about using his stuff in ML and Flux will be able to differentiate it anyway.
Humm, if you get everything right I would probably assume you already read about something similar which means that it is evaluating nothing or rather it is just evaluating your ability to remember things which is not that useful when you can just google it.
Energy price's are highly volatile because you cannot control the supply in a timely fashion nor store energy for later usage (in amounts that matters anyway), i.e it would be a worse currency.
Scarcity is a good attribute for a currency. Plus having a currency that mirror an asset (gold, energy) is actually a bad idea economically speaking because then the currency cannot be used in time of crisis to soften economic downturns. Which is what was used during the 2007 crisis. People do not realize how much worse the 2007 crisis would have been without the measures taken by the Federal Reserve.
IMO, the attractiveness of bitcoin is about being a secure decentralized payment system everything else is fluff. Such a system takes some energy to work what a surprise...
Do you guys think that all the financial institutions combined use less energy than bitcoin ?
Bitcoin is probably using a lot less energy...
