The guys that shorted the housing bubble made a fortune. The Realtors never warned you about what was inevitable. Being eternally optimistic is just part of the job description: "Now's a great time to buy a house. Housing always goes up! It's just a price re-adjustment, the market will come back in the spring."
Facebook re-financing with Goldman reminds me of Steve Case grabbing real value in Time-Warner at just the right time. I'm starting to hear the same rationales this time around as with iBubble v1.0 and Housing.
The instruments for shorting housing are not for the retail investor. Is there a way for the little guy to short this latest bubble? what's available? Is there a way to target venture? I'm not talking about broad based -2X ETFs.
From the summary : While there is a definite speedup from running on 1 cpu only to running on 1 cpu + 1 gpu, the multi-threaded versions generally have better overall performance. It is likely that once the CUDA versions are multi-threaded, running on the GPU nodes will confer additional advantages, but at present the codes are not yet mature.
Both Finnished? Nice pun. Regardless, Qt was Norwegian originally. Qt is better off with out a parent company that doesn't need or understand them. Nokia's new business partner Microsoft might appreciate them staying in a cage, though.
I got sort of an open question: Is there a platform independent API for development for WP7, iPhone and Android? It'd be great to write for one idealized target and have it run on all three ... or more if they make serious inroads.
What's amazing to me is NPR, PBS, CBC and BBC haven't gotten together to make their own public domain codecs. It's kind of their job to do this stuff. I guess if you take contributions from "The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation", you got make some compromises.
Pardon for the comment. I will likely be voted out of existence. Regardless, before that happens and you can see this comment ... is there a contingent gaming the scores? Perhaps paid trollers? How did this get 48 points? A post that's basicly saying "criticism of Microsoft is petty" getting cheered like it's the Gettysburg address? I smell something fishy going on.
petty hatred? Microsoft made a lot of enemies bullying their way to the top. Much of the enmity and fear is well placed. Microsoft acted like Walmart for 15 years destroying their competition and their suppliers. Many remember getting run out of business by these guys. It's not petty, it's payback.
