The HN hug of death

>returning a 200 and a body containing "error: I didn't do what you said because _insert error here_"

I've seen this approach before, it mostly follows from using the code to signal application errors (200 + ok/error) from other kinds of errors that might arise.

I'd probably start learning how to homebrew beer.

More like they get away with it because hundreds of thousands of people around the world demand the service.

nyxt? helium? midori?

There are hundreds of browsers these days, you shouldn't have a hard time finding one that fits your needs.

To this, I once moved to a city in a neighboring country and ended up having the exact same zip code as where I moved from.

I have a tiny but very comfy bluetooth keyboard, though 90% of the time I use a keyboard with android I'm using my tablet (and it's easy to forget it's not a laptop).

Never heard of that, nor of a union in tech. What part of Europe?

The discourse here is more of a criticism of Puentes, who is a very controversial minister overseeing this.

Yarmuk 636 is one of the most depressing events in history.

Whenever I read about that or the disasters that ensued in the following centuries I always spend a day depressed.

Grim.

Personally I preferred Boylestad as well as Sedra & Smith.

Boylestad was an excellent first look at electronics with S&S being great for going in-depth on some topics.

It looks beautiful! Now, if I could just find a non-JVM version...

Honestly can't remember, it was years ago when I looked into it.

Here's a good starting point though (trying to remember): https://www.reddit.com/r/shills/comments/3uoxpl/internet_shi...

But yeah, the site changed heavily around 2015-2016, in tandem with content policing growing, subs getting closed, etc.

These days I just use HN tbh.

I remember going down the "dead internet theory" rabbit hole of reddit and it was gruesome.

Tons of people who are actually paid to go through conversation scripts, push narratives, etc.

I recall a conversation I had with a climate researcher some years ago in France that left me surprised. To paraphrase, they explained that forecasting a system as complex as the climate is difficult and naturally leads to many different outcomes.

One subset of those outcomes, is that conditions would arise such that plant development is accelerated, something like a junglification (my word, probably butchering it).

Here's an article related to this, that links to research: https://cordis.europa.eu/article/id/430230-accelerated-rates...

Exactly.

I'll never understand the zeal some people have for self-flagellating or being overly PC.

The entitlement in your comment is staggering...

Why such a desire to be spoonfed, whining about having to put in the work?
