Probably just trying to avoid continued shorts from wires that are torn apart instead of cleanly cut.

> People rarely prostitute themselves (or others) for tobacco though. Which defines or quantifies addiction?

Because you can walk to an ashtray and pick out cigarette butts, which is about as dirty as the prostitution.

Great! Reddit search sucks. site:reddit.com ftw. Will you be adding a search feature? Even just a simple auto-complete with all the tags you have would be great!

I'll take "inflation" if it means trillion dollar spending packages are more likely to reach human citizens instead of corporations.

If you indirectly contribute to terrorizing people based on race because you provide aid and comfort to a racist, are you a terrorist?

> maybe it's just that intelligent people know how to take personality tests

Also why ADHD meds, prescribed legally, are rampant on college campuses.

The article is from 2015, but nothing has changed.

Realistically, I think the US University experiment does a good job teaching this with first-hand experience. Giving a kid significant access to money they'll make in the future, surrounded by positive and negative opportunities to spend that money, and no clearly correct path to follow since the answer is dependent on your personal background. That's a recipe for learning to think quickly. Though, it's like pushing the baby bird out of the nest, you might only have one shot to get it right.

Like cancer, individual (cell) reproduction without consideration for the group (organism).

We all know how cancer ends...

Hopefully, you'll soon recognize the value (and even beauty) of senescence (Steve Jobs did) and not commit our future generations to a slow painful death.

If not, your kids might also appreciate an opportunity to prove themselves, and just not ride your coattails. Even if not, after you're gone no one will praise them without an asterisk.

But hey, who doesn't still envy the life of a trust fund kid. Smoking weed and buying Supreme® crap your whole life doesn't seem that bad?

They are a good deal and I had replaced at least six. My assumption was it's just a manufacturing defect since it's low cost and mass produced. And I'll buy the same ones to replace them.

Also note, these are spotlight LEDs that in the past were halogen, and not your standard sized lightbulbs, which are probably a few generations ahead in terms of manufacturing.

True. In Florida, 1/3 of trucks are raised so there occupants have to literally climb in. These are commonly adorn with "Trump" and "Don't tread on me" bumper stickers and even massive flags (because you know, big truck means big flag...)

I once drove one to move something (the cab/bed being five feet off the ground wasn't as helpful as you'd think \s). The experience was somewhat surreal, like driving in an air traffic control tower. Much different than a u-haul (my only other trucking experience).

Edit: oh yeah, they do this to go "mudding" (drinking and driving in a giant muddy mess with guns, so much fun!).

I've had a noticeable amount of cheaper (WalMart) LEDs burnout in less than a year. But my Philips Hue lights have been running strong 4+ years now :)

Much. The parent comment reads like a mix of severely lacking empathy and selfish grandiosity. This guy would probably also agree he should have 500+ kids to spread his blessed seed to the world.

What makes you so sure? Personally, that bubble burst for me a long time ago. I hope I'm wrong. I'd love a new insight or even any tips that might give me more of a chance to see that discovery.

Weak ad hominem attack. Not sure why you wasted a comment for it.

Sorry to hear about your ongoing issues. Sadly, it's the same story thousands of times per day, often for people experiencing the final moments of their lives.

The healthcare insurance industry absolutely needs to be destroyed.

One day, we'll look back at this debacle similar to cigarettes, big industry manipulating the population and millions of people dying unnecessarily because of it.

It's time to end the suffering.
