Bash is great for orchestrating other Unix tools into an automated workflow. Only when that workflow requires stuff that Bash doesn't have is it time to break out Python. Integrate Shellcheck into your editor, and you get automated help for writing more reliable Bash.
Not only that, but in my cynical eyes the proliferation of LLMs has triggered a stupidity explosion. Either that, or it just made it blatantly obvious by how much stupidity we have been surrounded the whole time without realizing it. No other development demonstrated so clearly that the dark ages where we believed in sorcery and miracles have never really ended.
That's a benign term for it. Actually, it's lies, damn lies, and fucking god-damn lies. It's the super-mega-overdrive version of every principle that ads are based on. Like they are afraid we still haven't understood what makes ads tick, so they give us the practical in-your-face demo. And they were successful. I'm not believing a single word anyone remotely related to that business says anymore.
Listen to The Public Broadcasting Act of 1967. It's bureaucratic language, which could put you to sleep. But then it also contains some ideas that sound utterly unrealistic and utopian in our current times, even as mere aspirations. Thinking about what we've lost since 1967 makes me lose my sleep.
The "cool" thing about it is that LLM suppliers will own the workforce of the employers who switched so those employers will be at their mercy. Total power, untold profits.
