This was unsubstantiated and took a similar toll on Niemann. The recent Netflix documentary interviews the key players, and it’s pretty that he didn’t cheat in that situation. Magnus’s cozy relationship with chess.com made Danny Rench jump to conclusions, giving the Magnus team the impression that cheating had happened, but a later chess.com analysis showed that was unlikely. It made for a good viral story, but wasn’t fair to Hans, no matter how unpleasant his personality is.

They mostly did very well, other than Levon Aronian not knowing some basic chemical formulas and Hikaru’s brain freezing on the cube side question.

In how many companies or countries is the smartest person in charge? Raw intelligence is just one of many factors that affect a person’s abilities.

Siri, wake me up at “time”… Months later you have dozens of saved alarms, all at different times.

Set a timer for 50 minutes…always get a timer for 15.

Only a matter of time before SpaceX starts selling parcels of land on Mars, surprised they haven’t yet. It has to be good for a few extra billions.

GPUs do have a life expectancy. They don’t run forever, especially at high temperatures and full utilization.

Completely missing the other costs associated with any of these things. If money was enough to “feed the hungry” Musk or Gates would have already done it. The real problem is systemic injustice, like governments stealing foreign aid that’s meant to go to the poor. Money can’t always solve these.

Time is more valuable than money and unless you have tons of time and space that simulator is just an expensive paperweight.

Agree, I find AI valuable for writing reports on the behavior of features in our codebase, but I’ve started sharing the prompt at the top of the file before sending it out, and reviewing the content line by line to catch obvious errors.

The criticism is that this is a respectable project, so when you read obvious AI tells like “Honestly, …”, or “Flipper One isn't an upgrade to Flipper Zero — it's a completely different project with its own goals” in the first few paragraphs, it’s distracting and takes away from the content.

A simple fix I use for AI writing is disclosing it. Here, a simple note that “this article was translated with AI assistance” would have made it much less distracting.

Surprised the article doesn’t mention the McCormick Bridgehouse Museum. It’s something like $5, and you can see the inside of one of those bridges.

You don’t buy FartCoin for the short term gains, you buy it for the long term. For example it’s down over the past hour, but if you look long term (past day) it’s up.

And yes of course I’m joking. If you’re spending money on these get rich quick schemes instead of dollar cost averaging into an index fund, you’re being irresponsible. That’s real advice.

Young man I’m going to give you a piece of life advice. You don’t throw your money away on something frivolous like that. You buy a long term, safe investment, like FartCoin.

https://gitcharts.com shows ~310 million public repos today, vs. 250 million in April 2025 (according to the wayback machine).

Large increase, but nothing existential.
