Fluke has made an acoustic imager for a while now. It is used for detecting leaks:

I think that is the "challenge" with dnsmasq. In addition to caching DNS it also does, dhcp, authoritative DNS, BOOTP and TFTP.

I never heard anyone say "October Missile Crisis." Did you grow up in Cuba or a Cuban American community?

If this article is interesting to you I highly recommend War of the Whales. It is an interesting look at Cold war science+politics and the environment. A decent part of the book is about SOSUS.

I can't find one /8 that is assigned to boeing. I think your idea of IP allocation is very outdated.

You just listed companies that have one /8 not multiple /8s.

Do you have any examples of large companies that have multiple /8s but can get away with a /21?

One of my favorite readings from undergrad and grad school was "The Problem of Social Costs" by R. Coase. I'm sorry you think externalities are glossed over by economics, but Im excited to tell you that this is certainly not the case. Coase won the Nobel Prize in economics in large part for his work on externalities. They don't hand out Nobel prizes for glossed over topics. It's definitely worth a read of you wish economics paid more attention to externalities:

The three months difference must be based on a wild corner case. What cities are you basing that statement on?

I played around with weatherspark and all the places I tried looked like this :

It looks like it probably won't matter. The site says you can preorder a DevKit "Shipping between June and September 2025."

The fact that they haven't updated that webpage with new information since October 1st 2025 seems to indicate bad news...

If you think Hollywood content is worthless why bother pirating it at all? It seems like you would just not consume it.

If you like this there has been a interesting discussion on the tzdb mailing list about how to handle the Vancouver change and the next releases of the tzdb and the Unicode Common Locale Data Repository: https://lists.iana.org/hyperkitty/list/[email protected]/thread/IE...

How many games did you have to throw away because stockfish wanted to castle? Or did you force stockfish to not castle? Castling seems like such a frequent move it is hard to draw any conclusions about the strength of an engine that does not support it.

You have worked for the same company for >55 years? That's wild. Can you share the industry?
