But they are going to be made whole, or nearly so. It may take a while, but the guy they brought in to untangle FTX is the same guy that untangled Enron. He's said that FTX always had enough assets to cover its obligation, at least on paper, it just sucked at keeping track of them.

The US has officially been transitioning to the metric system since the 1970's and the metric system is widely used in official capacities throughout the US and the US government.

Seattle, Washington for sure. We are further north than a significant portion of the population of Canada.

There is a huge difference between the 1970's and now. Light, lot's of it. We have so much more light today then in the 70's, our headlights are brighter, we have more street lamps, and so much more.

We'll also see more northern states adopt permanent DST while southern states adopt permanent ST. Kids already go to school in the dark in the northern states, but they also come home in it too. This change will give them some daylight in the afternoon to go out and socialize.

MSFT tried to brute force their way into the mobile market. App developers wouldn't take their money.

1. Elon Musk only cares about the money in his pocket despite whatever persona he puts on for the public.

That's it, that explains everything.

Theoretically, yes. You'd have to use a self-directed IRA, but it can be done.

Understand is doing a lot of lifting here, it's also probably wrong that all the black boxes are understood. No one actually understands economics, we are all using a bunch of decades/century old models that don't really hold up in the real world and when they don't are dismissed as being influenced by outside factors in a complex system. See raising the minimum wage causes unemployment and inflation is a monetary phenomenon for 2 examples.

> Yes they're an adult and should know better

Why should they know better? Why are adults expected to be experts in all things? Certainly if it was bad the government would stop it or they wouldn't make enough money to advertise to lowly old me is likely what most of them think.
