between her and her mentor its been a single power in place since 2001 so I don't know what you define by "always" but it definitly got worse from 2001 and so on with a sharp acceleration when she got into power. paris debt too.

well its relative. for instance japanese parks are horrible. paris parks are a thing of beauty. the mayor is indeed contributing to make it a dirty agressive and expensive city by not fighting crime, mass tourism (she loves it. somehow she hates french people having cars but she is fine with rich tourists riding cabs in paris) and all the theft that is related to mass tourism... customer service is not at the level of japan but at least its not at the level of usa where everything is a transaction and every word is fake.

not everyone in tech is making 6 digits working at FAANG. stop blaming the workers. the problem is the gov, the economists, and the crazy policies during covid. there are plenty of other jobs high paid such as consulting, legal jobs that are not creating any clear value as well. at leas tech changed the way people buy things, communicate, move around, travel and created wealth into the midle class like no other profession. to earn well in law you need a network and a family that knows how to guide you through the best schools and best companies. same for consulting/banking a commononer won't get into rotschild or mckinsey. tech allowed all kind of people to build wealth.

you are over 50 right? who in their right mind will work overtime during peak season with a damocles sword over his head. you are getting paid to do normal work not overtime and go beyond. you do exceed expectations because you want a raise or promotion and you sacrifice your time and family life for that. now knowing that you are likely to get fired next quarter (because layoffs are NOT about performance) changes the deal quite a bit...

just eat good food. plan your meals to have daily intake filled. overdosing vit D can be really really bad.

I am not sure. At FAANG in europe you can make 200k. you need to make 400keuros (maybe 350k if you really good with tax and deducting costs) but you wont get any day off, sick day, any health insurance (even in europe it helps) , no 401k.

tbh I am not sure it is better money wise. for sure you get the freedom tho but also the stress of finding new customers

it is very easy to fire in europe... and you have a trial period up to 6 month where you can fire your employe for any kind of reason. after that you can also fire easily your employee but youd need to give him a 3 month notice. but definitly economic downturn is a valid reason to fire someone.

so actually for markets like software with plenty of jobs and employment the trial/notice period of 3 months are playing against the workers by creating a complex market that is not fluid at all. it however protects better workers that are in less fortunate industries which is good.

profitable? you get 50% tax in most western countries in europe. its nearly impossible to make more than a FAANG-level company with that taxation

it really doesnt matter how much you make as long as you have a family and do not own property or have inherited wealth you are a wagie and 200k or 50k ud have loans that you cant pay when you are unemployed...

if you quit you dont get unemployement in france either... and nobody is forcing you to quit but you still have the 3month period before leaving the company. if you dont respect it youll be blacklisted... we don't operate on a gigantic market like the us. being blacklisted is a bad in a smaller country

there is coherence. his original comment was spitting hate at russia in a way that the country was pure evil my reply merely mentionned they defeated nazi germany. then he edited the comment. I credit the fact that history is complex and that all countries are bad and good.

europe is the worst of both worlds. there isnt really protection. and as the years go by it gets worse as our governments vote new law to reduce our protections. let me give you the example of france. when we join a company we can be fired during the first six months with very little real reason. when we want to leave the company we need to give a 3month notice (think about how happy is the new company knowing youll misss a quarter when some of those companies don't even plan their future well - just look GCP hiring freeze suddenly in the middle of a quarter while in a hiring spree one week before). when you get fired most of the time you will get unemployement. 55% of your salary (it is very good but when you plan your life around 100% salary it gets very very challenging to live on 55%). but only for the first 6 months (a new law that concerns mostly white collars...) then it will be degressive so that after a few months you out of luck. note that in europe you pay tax while you work so that you can be paid while unemployed... so the 6month degressive new law is pure stealing from the people and totally evil and because it hits only white collars workers most of the people don't talk about it because it concerns people that are 'well off' in the society while in reality policies like this are a total destruction of the middle class.

finding a new job you will compete with people that have this 3 month notice so most of the companies plan hiring around it. also if you are unemployed in europe it will look really bad during your interviews.

now compare that to USA. you give 2 week notice, job market is very fluid so you can likely find a new job 2 week after stay there a few months helping the company and then use that time to apply to a new job in a better company.

Obviously the french model might be better for low earners/blue collars that do not have a job security. but for everyone else it is really hard to move to another company, managers know that too so they dont need to carrot you into a raise or a promotion as much as they do in US.

i was answering this. he is not - unlike the western press tends to say - stupid or incosistent. he is literaly the most consistent leader of his era. we know what he wants and what he protects. he never changed his mind on the key areas of his geopolitic view of the world. not like europe or us presidents do every new election or new mandate to get more voices. Putin always said that ukraine was to remain neutral. and if you play around words then by your logic even biden would be able to press the red button and extinct mankind for stupid or inconsistent reasons.
