My assumption is OP doesn't know much about LLMs. Clearly speaking to chatGPT as a person (which I'm guilty of as well at times), but the personification goes further, as you're assigning it attributes that it can't have. Even in the comments people are drawing comparisons to a psychopath... It's just a bot. Also, their chatGPT's response style seems to me like it's been personalized. I also hate when chatGPT hallucinates and starts giving nonsense response, but I acknowledge its just "hallucinating"; what we don't want to start doing is attributing human emotions to a machine.

This is terrible advice. Sounds like OP wants to learn industry standards/practices and tooling. How are they supposed to pick that up on their own? It's more likely they'll just develop bad habits, especially with ChatGPT.

Hi Peter, what are my options as someone who qualifies for DACA (but doesn't have it) when it comes to working in tech or getting hired by a real company? Currently I do "false freelance" work for a small company that doesn't pay well.

There's a lot of videos about EV conversions on YT but they're mostly on the edutainment side not a full on course. Watching RichRebuilds, JerryRigEverything's jeep conversion gives you an overview of the process and they're entertaining if you're completely new to the idea.

The benefits for seniors made me sad. Poor old people, this might actually be a good idea if it weren't for everything that's obviously wrong with it.

This just makes me more sad, thinking about what could have been. I had a 1500 on SAT from a school where the average is probably at 1000.

Hi Peter, what are my employment options as a programmer who (long story short qualifies for DACA) is completely undocumented. Not a citizen, not a resident but living in the US. I'm working with a local company and doing work as a 1099 Contractor, but this along with freelance can be limiting. I would much rather work with a big(ger) company, but unfortunately I don't have work authorization. Am I right in assuming there's no way for me to get hired at a real company? Or are there workarounds I'm not aware about?

>Second, people still crave the advantages of removable batteries that were left behind: increasing battery life by swapping batteries instead of using a cumbersome external battery pack, inexpensively and conveniently extending the life of a product by replacing a worn-out battery with a new one—without paying for someone else to perform delicate surgery on the device.

This whole paragraph is delusional. Apple users carrying and swapping out batteries? Apple supporting and allowing people to simply swap out a battery instead of going to the apple store for a certified repair? Apple??

I was looking through it thinking "Wow this is beautiful, reminds me of that Euclid one I saw a while back". Nicholas has done it again. Man doesn't miss

So... prove you're not a bot by paying $1?? Nice monetization tactic, Elon.

This sounds like an Apple fanboy comment, tbh. Most people are used to windows and if they want an alternative, they'll reach for Linux. MacOS is more of a con rather than a pro since you're effectively locked in with no chance of switching.

The adoption of Tailwind is its own phenomenon. The whole point was to come at CSS at a different angle that circumvented the pain points of regular CSS, not really aimed at being a crutch for those who don't know CSS. You still gotta know that p-8 adds padding and what it does within the box model, and using the grid or flexbox doesn't really make anything simpler.

> I really would rather use Vue/React/whatever that is "stuck", stable

I wouldn't call Vue stable. It's actually one of the points of the article (not necessarily agreeing); the frameworks tend to make breaking changes, especially Vue.

This would be a great service if it was a more robust translation tool. From what other comments are saying, this is the chatGPT API with some prompting for translation but I could see this working and providing much more value with a model specifically trained like what Iceland is doing to help preserve its language. https://openai.com/customer-stories/government-of-iceland

>aimed at helping younger kids with schoolwork

IMO duolingo is aimed at peopple(adults) who say they want to learn a language but aren't ready to take it seriously
