Quite a lot of people think they're far better engineers than they really are, myself included. I've gotten better over the past few years at realizing that AI writes better code than me, which has made it easier for me to stick to architecture and let the (working) code be what it is.
I'm not sure this is a realistic use case to try and support. A 10 year old android phone likely has a battery life measured in 10s of minutes, and really isn't something we need to worry about.
I've been working to use the best model for the task for about 6 months and have found great success doing plan with the 'frontier' model but punting implementation down to a 'lesser' model. I'm using the Beads-Rust (a rust fork of GasTown's beads) as my issue tracker. So far, so good.
Not sure about the stated principal, but I do think it follows the policy nicely. Yes, you can upload your AI generated music, but it will be tagged as such, and you cannot profit from it.
NIMBYism has been popular for a long time. People really do want datacenters (or at least, the things that having datacenters enable).. they just want them somewhere else.
