Folks on reddit and hackernews aren't normal people. Outside of this bubble few people have heard of linux. Hell so few people I know use firefox which makes me mad. You are safe from that fear.

Thing is it hasn't moved as much as you think. People have moved from poverty to lower middle class not actually middle class. If consider middle class as between 20k to 40k a month and lower middle class at 10k to 20k a month and below 10k as poor then most poor people have only moved to lower middle class only.

Do people stop doing crimes because laws have made it illegal. I am saying there is no point trying to stop what is inevitable instead our energies are better spent trying to understand how best to navigate an online world without any privacy.

Right now many western nations are involved in Pegasuses, what happens when China gets involved. We will have absolutely no control over what China does, especially when no country will publicly acknowledge that we are spying on people.

Do people really think any of this is ever going to change? Governments don't give a shit, they time and again say they won't do something only to later do it in secret.

We should at this point accept that this isn't going to change and move ahead with the belief that your data is already hacked and is not private anymore. We should discuss more on the exact consequences of this and take actions accordingly.

The data and the analysis are excellent but I don't think people should rely completely on data to make the analysis as sometimes the data can be misleading.
