I would much prefer this story being written by a real friend of the protagonist. Everyone else knew but me" and proceeds to do an analysis. Rather nosy and self-confident the author. Opinions from afar are not very useful. "Some were dumb, some were smart" oh really, wow, what an insight! This guy is piggy-backing on the death of a person he once met a few times. Go and get some real friend, and then write about them. pfft.
Aw come on. If someone were to say "this guy", you wouldnt think about sexism in the slightest. Claiming sexism whenever a woman is criticized is starting to get very very boring. In fact, this sort of argument is hurting the feminist movement more then you'd think. Some of us are fed up with this nonesense. Equality does go both ways, equality of rights and responsibilities. If women want to raise to the top, they have to be prepared to take the shit. If they arent. they should probably go back to the kitchen damnit!
Nice posting, thanks for that. I still cant really understand the hype around Gould and its goldberg interpretations. Yes, they are good. But no, they are far from the best I know. If you ever get the time and a recording, listen to Ragna Schirmer playing Goldberg. Her interpretation blows Gould's out of the water, IMO :-)

There is a difference between refusing to fall for manipulative writing and lack of empathy. Since we're already on such a personal level, I advice you to concentrate on your Torrent download and Crypto hobbies, instead of lecturing others about empathy.
We're talking about a woman, not "a person". Thats important in this context. A woman with a very public job that cant stand the backlash which comes with her job description. Of course, the whole world has to change now, because she cant be bothered to toughen up.
