>To play a computer game in in the 1990s, you first had to understand how the computer worked.

As someone who played plenty of computer games as a teen in the 90s I assure you that I did not know how it worked. I learned how it worked later when I got a CS degree at university. Following the instructions from the booklet that came with the game may have helped me to get it working, but there was minimal understanding.

I've encountered AI copies of songs from popular artists, hopefully this will stop or at least slow that down. I suspect the only reason those songs are uploaded is because people will accidentally listen to it and then the up loader gets the streaming revenue.

If you're comfortable doing DIY a lot of equipment can be rented at your local Home Depot or similar store. I had a clogged sewer line and rented a drain snake for the afternoon. Much cheaper than calling the plumber.

The thing I won't do is roof work. Too scary.

Here's an interesting article by the photographer about fake AI generated macro photos: https://www.nickybay.com/ai-abuse-to-skirt-copyright-law/

That was exactly my first thought. Could I mod this use with boats. I already have some spreadsheets for tracking engine maintenance, etc, but this looks really cool.

This is basically the plot of the Bobiverse novels. They're a fun read.

I've never seen Hackers. It was War Games for me, too.

I recently put Endeavour with KDE on an old laptop (c. 2013). It runs great. Much snappier than it ever did with windows. Great distro.

There's an unexpected optical illusion in the size diagram. The 1/6 block appears narrower than the 1/9 block.
