Quite often what/how the engineers do is irrelevant really but without the sale nothing happens. Look at MSFT - crappy software but would love the commission.
I'm sure some junior sales people would love a fat base but if you are any good the results-based reward incentive thing benefits both parties.
If it made sense to charge by the line of code then engineers would too (line necessarily being a good surrogate for value added).
English is a wonderful language, full of subtlety. For instance: "long and tortuous". Torturous is not the same. We are losing meaning. It is probably rude to correct people. I don't, I hope. I agree that language evolves but sometimes its just incorrect. I mean what in hell is 'wreck havoc', havoc is wrought not wrecked. It's probably already wrecked? I have heard 'wreck havoc' from a native speaker, a BBC radio presenter...live on air. Gaaah! What hope! Pity the poor etmyologists of the future!

Meh. Who uses yahoo mail as their main? Nobodies. I don't really know other than I don't get many emails from person@yahoo. I've got a yahoo account (or an aussie Y7) its for spam and pipes (pipes are cool). I've also got a huge file full of yahoo mail hashes... people's password choices can be embarrassing~!
