Try to work at a place that has a union and decide to not be part of it... then you can see the true face of injustice. Don't want to be extorted out of union fees? Good luck, you are better off working somewhere else.

So... how would you go about monitoring to create this dataset with Twitter's API? Just plain searches triggered by a daily/weekly cron job and remember user ids? Or is there something more sophisticated?

Not having a specific well-defined use case... Under no circumstances would I call that a “product”. I would call it “really cool tech” at best, but I can’t fathom how a “multi-billion company” can’t figure that out. Yes, this gives me obvious schadenfreude...
