To stay in touch with math, the annually publicized math problems from the German Abitur[0] are great! The problems are already separated into three difficulties, making it suitable to include in your website (although they might need translating).

To alleviate the issue with most applications dumping their files in your home directory, i found xdg-ninja[0] to be helpful.

In short, it scans all your programs and determines if you can configure it to respect the xdg standards. It doesn't work for everything, but most applications do seem to have such an option.

RebornOS seems to have a system configuration utility, more DE/WM options to choose from and a different overall style. EndeavourOS prides itself as being terminal centric, while RebornOS allows the user to configure the system graphically with their 'RebornOS Fire System'.

As an advanced user these are largely unimportant differences, but as a newbie there might be an appeal to choose RebornOS.

Redirector is great, but unfortunately is no longer maintained because the author passed away[0].

The author specifically excludes "Company VPNs" and VPNs to "phone into your home network" from the scope of the article.

Although i agree with the overall message, there are privacy concerns with OCSP[1] which are mitigated by using a VPN. When trying to use the web privacy conscious, it might actually be beneficial to your privacy. This is a very edge case though.

FLAC audio and higher royalties towards artists for $5/month (student discount) is actually insane, considering all i'm missing out on are podcasts/audiobooks.

I am of mixed nationality and as such have two surnames, typically separated by a dash "-".

The last time I went to renew one of my passports, I was informed that my country eschews using foreign surnames on passports. After insisting, I ended up with brackets "()" on my passport.

Besides being a complete displeasure when travelling, I wonder if there is a reasoning for this policy. If for example some database has values saved in the local language, my foreign name cannot be represented correctly because we do not use Latin script. Thus my foreign name gets omitted, and effectively only is for show.

Does anyone have an idea how certain countries (China, Korea, Japan) deal with this?
