I wouldn't consider this something that really matters to me, though. I'm not up in arms over it. It's not an insurmountable annoyance. It didn't ruin my day. (LOL, the other comment about "perceived duality"... It's really not that deep!)
I didn't know I was going against the grain, though. It seems folks here are perfectly fine with AI discourse. How do we even know when a user is real? I digress.
I simply disagree. If I wanted an LLM's opinion, I would forego HN entirely and just use ChatGPT. I browse forums like this to get organic opinions from real people.
When I see someone post an LLM reply, it makes me wonder - is the reply synonymous with their actual opinion, only formatted better? Or are they attempting to disguise an LLM output as something of their own? The former I am much more OK with, but the latter irks me for reasons I haven't fully considered and you have me thinking about.
"Calling out" AI comments has felt like somewhat of a duty, heh, but maybe we've reached a point of no return. I still value a real, organic opinion, though, no matter how well an AI can summarize it.
Yeah, same. I'd rather wait for a better game made by happier devs. The studio is just notorious for crunch and failing to adhere to release dates, so i was just stating the obvious
I believe it's because this is random AI garbage. I swear ChatGPT can be used to justify anything. The "jokes" are nonsensical and unfunny, even for early-19th-century Oxford professor inside jokes...
I'm surprised to see, on HN of all places, so many people taking the AI bait so often. Seems like more than half of blog posts and articles posted here are AI generated, but people skip reading the content and just go straight to the comments to discuss the title out of context.
guess this is anecdotal based on my experience but RHCP seems to be very popular worldwide. Especially considering in many countries popular American music is played many years after they are a hit in the US. RHCP plays overseas nearly every tour and seem to be absolutely massive in South America (just go to any RHCP youtube video, and look at all the comments like "please come back to Brasil!"
Youtube is a gold mine (favorite channels: MrMarmar420, telekinetica, astavely56, silverchair97, lazylightning55a, and phish's official channel) MKDevo also has some good pro-shots of early 3.0 (full view of CK5 lights) but doesn't seem to cover them anymore.
Relisten or phish.in if you don't mind taper auds.
If you really want the good stuff, the live phish app is unbeatable. Full sondboad quality, all the LP official releases, Live Baits, every show since 2009, and most (but nowhere near all) of the good 90's shows. Can't recommend enough, it's an endless well of musical exploration and is my default music app
yes i've been waiting for years to be asked this on HN =P
edit: also theres a "just jams" phish channel that cuts out all songs/lyrics lol
Instrumental music seems very popular with those who listen while working. Lyrics are noticeably distracting for me, unless I tune out the music altogether, but with instrumentals I can sort of work to a "rhythm" it feels like. So this was kind of intuitive knowledge, already, at least for me.
Because of this, I find myself listening to a lot of Jungle and DnB, jazz, fusion, and the occasional 30 minute Phish jam.
WOW this is something else. I had to ask it to STOP calling everything goblins. A bug? A code-goblin. A feature? A new, fancy goblin. A new task? Task-goblin.
WTF? Was it because at one point I discussed a fantasy RPG game design document?
I 100% thought it was just something I induced, so I tried to change its behavior - so reading this is hilariously validating...
Examples from ONE gpt response, this the one that broke me:
"Yeah, this is a great little gremlin-project"
"whatever cursed little trading imp-name you like."
"Phase 4: Polish goblin"
"Phase 5: Maybe dangerous goblin"
It's called income tax, which isn't new, and used to be much higher for the top brackets. Income tax rates are not derived from the Constitution, and an amendment is not necessary. But if someone wanted to propose an amendment to forbid taxation, then good luck to them.
Let's say a group of 3 people wanted to pay for something that costs $3k. They want to split the cost fairly, but two of them only own $1k. The third person owns $70 billion. Would you ask them to agree to each give $1k? Or would you ask the person with $70 billion to maybe cover, idk, at least half? Anyone that answers "well its not fair to the person with 70 billion to ask that they pay more", is an idealogically-captured simpleton. It only takes basic logic and empathy to derive the obvious answer but meaningless ideology prevails somehow
It just annoys me.
