My 20 year old self was much better at making fast, bad decisions. Not taking the time to think through the higher order effects of those decisions. That 20 year old self lacks all the MOOCs I have taken, all the life and professional experience, 300+ non-fiction books.
I think at 20 I would have been a better test taker if we both started a college class right now but that is about it. I am way "smarter" or "more intelligent" though at 54 vs that 20 year old self. It isn't even close.
IMO much is because we are blind to ET Jaynes Mind Projection Fallacy in this area. We think of "intelligence" as a physical property like mass that gets weaker with age like muscles or bones. It is just such a given in our thinking and language that we can't help it.
They handle like nothing else. There is literally nothing else to compare them to so they seem almost alien. You could dive bomb a gate yourself after maybe 10 hours of practice in a simulator.
Of course the first time you try you won't even be able to keep the drone in the air but really quickly the controls become second nature.
The irony is the guys at the park were most likely not even great pilots. Look up Mr Steele on youtube if you want to watch someone do really inhuman stuff.

Having digested so much and having 30 years to think about, I just don't think the medium lends itself to art well. The medium lends itself to cohesive pedestrian narratives. Going beyond that mostly just ends up with bad art and nonsense.

Forget the average, how about the bottom 10-20% of all drivers? I don't trust the bottom 10% driving with "Autopilot" at all, zero. They are going to use it to go on autopilot while driving, exactly as the marketing implies. I mean there has to even be people who think the car itself is conscious. Car has advanced AI, must be conscious.
To think otherwise is just highly underestimating how clueless some people are.
