As an engineer, I am still amazed to see small, medium and large companies embrace new technologies and try to change the workflow of everyone based on hype, and not on proves.

This proves, at least to me, that the system is broken, and no one is safe compared to marketing and fanfare.

I know some friends who are "10x more productive" now than before AI, but those friends were (with all my respect) not engineered but code-monkeys.

A bit pessimistic for the future of engineering to be honest. Either the future will belong to people who want to solve problems but lost their skills and re-invent the past again and again (because fundamentally the knowledge is lost), or to people who don't give a f** about quality but are only concerned about money and not solving problems.

Because of all the hype and bullshit we excessively get from 3 years now, and from all « AI companies ». I do not trust any « AI company » today, especially not when they are close of a big deal with their IPO.

Cool for them I guess, but big tech does not mean quality today (Meta, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Netflix… all those companies are doing s** today).

I continue to debug the code of my colleagues who use Claude everyday however. It is exhausting, but it saves the life of my low tech company today.

> I want this React component and that component to talk through shared context. Go. The code that comes back is often cleaner than what I would have coded myself, and it is written in a fraction of the time.

I am sorry, but if you think that your LLM instance codes BETTER than you then it means (to me) that you are bad at programming.

Faster, ok. But BETTER...

This is completely bullshit in my own opinion.

Either this is true and Anthropic is absolutely not valuable in keeping information secrets (so how about their users?!), or they are doing this to leverage fake hype (again...) about their IPO soon.

I am getting so tired of this fake hype...

I guess CEOs will have no interest in being replaced... even if this "function cost" seems easier to achieve compared to engineers.

Now, I would be interested to learn more how to "discover" new subjects and not getting stuck on the original mission of the company as we know AI (LLMs or agents here) is not creative.
