You just used the same argument that some parents use when they decide to not vaccinate their children. They essentially rely on the fact that everyone else vaccinates so they don't have to. This trend catches on and now measles are at a 20 year high.

Bitcoin has done nothing, but increase in value since then. If JD was trying to spread FUD in order to buy cheap....that clearly didn't work. No one in the Bitcoin space gives a shit what that guy says.
Fyi, the original paper by Ralph Merkle where he introduces what is later called Merkle Trees is definitely worth knowing. I wouldn't say it is my fav, but it resulted in a key component in some of my favorite technologies.
