I would like the title to be true. Europe truly needs to break away from the US, but I fear it's just a face saving fig leaf.
In Econ grad school this was taken as the singularly biggest, unthinkable loss for the power of the US. Being the worlds default currency means oil is enumerated in USD.
That's a lot of editorializing in the title there.
