Where the hell is AR shopping?

When you said AR shopping I thought you meant looking at a product on the shelf and Google glass telling you where you can get it cheaper, offer you an extended warranty, compare to a competitor, etc.
Very cool stuff out there with the HoloLens, although I don't know of any shopping app. You could create your own. Of course a larger audience could be reached with Google cardboard, but that's more VR.
I haven't heard of the iPhone doing doing AR. How does it project into the user's environment?

Shopify launched support for 3D models and videos in March: https://www.shopify.ca/blog/3d-models-video
I run a Shopify business and they’ve been talking about AR for 3 years and it still doesn’t work. What the hell is going on? They just announced a size.link feature where it shows the size of the product as a purple box, but that’s ugly as hell. Why would I show my customers a stupid ass purple box?
What the hell is going on and where is the goddamned AR shopping we were promised? If coronavirus doesn’t make this happen, what the hell can?
