For most office workers, the office is to some extent a dehumanizing panopticon. Some workers do prefer working in the office, but employers do not primarily push for office work in order to make those workers happy - they push for office work primarily for their own reasons. If the survey result of "The majority, or 58%, of employees said they would look for a new position if they weren’t allowed to continue working remotely in their current position" is representative, then we are in for an interesting test of labor's power.
Oh how I hate these unfair double standards. Some of us explicitly choose to not have children so we can have more personal time.
