New startup idea: a 3d printer but for drinks.
Online ordering systems for fast food places let you fully customize all the toppings on your hamburger. But what if you could do the same thing for drinks? E.g, you order a soda but substitute the high fructose corn syrup with real sugar or your preferred artificial sweetener.
Then when Coke changes their formula to v3, you can just order Coke v2. You could also get bootleg formulations of the soda via GitHub (or The Pirate Bay after DMCAs are sent) so that people can mix and match flavors.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenCola_(drink) does something like this, but it's hard to mix the chemicals directly due to their toxicity in pure form.

Also how they figure out which subflavors (orange, vanilla, etc) of gunk to ship to which regions.
This is how the drink machines work at Five Guys. It's just the same carbonated water base with additives for each individual drink haha. (except you can't swap the subcomponents as in your example)
Not really a "printer" though...

I noticed a new can and flavor for Coke Zero in Denmark in the last few months. Maybe it was a testbed for a larger rollout in the rest of the world? I'm not sure, but I vastly prefer the taste of the new version.
Same in Sweden. That can and flavor has been around for a few months.
Yet the dates on that official coke Twitter indicates they did launch it now?
What’s going on? Did they launch it in Europe without a campaign a few months early?
As for the taste I’d describe the difference as “hardly noticable” but I do prefer the old recipe.

There's coke zero and coke zero sugar. The latter is the new recipe which imo is extremely sweeter than the original.
Side anecdote, I don't know anyone who drinks these types of sugary beverages anymore (even the ones with alternative sweeteners). I predict this attitude will spread until these are seen in a similar light to smoking cigarettes.
