I wonder if in terms of GC Go still has an advantage over Java now that ZGC and Shenandoah are here. Though from what I understand you have to choose between GraalVM or one of the new GCs/some heavy reflection.
> As you probably guessed, I have a love/hate relation with Go. Go is a bit like this friend that you like to hang out with because he's fun and great for small talk around beers, but that you find boring or painful when you want to have deeper conversations, and that you don't want to go on vacation with.
That's a really good way of describing my feelings too, though I would describe it as a collegue more than a friend. I can see why this could be a good thing for people though, at some point you may want to do day to day work with a reliable collegue and not a friend.
