Finding a TPM module for my ASRock board is difficult, and I'm not going to upgrade my rig to get there. My board has a header for TPM - x399m - do I need to use an ASRock TPM module or can I just use any TPM module that is the same pinout? I'm embarrassed to say I just don't know.

This document doesn't address any TPM conversation except how to turn it on if yours is disabled. Guess I'm sticking with 10!

Modern processors have integrated “firmware” TPMs, so you shouldn’t need a discrete module. See https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2021/06/heres-what-youll-nee... for some details. I was able to enable mine in my BIOS.

(I work for MS, but in Visual C++, not Windows, and I don’t speak for them.)
