It was a pretty well written article, and you might find you agree with some of it if you give it a read.
You’re right that “woke” can mean many things to many people, to the author, it refers to the “diversity/history of oppression” classes she took at her university.
Ultimately, one of the things the article advocates for is having more thoughtful, well intentioned reactions to the foibles of others, rather than assuming bad intent.

For what it's worth, the article is a firsthand account of the experience of a disabled woman in a male-dominated discipline, and maybe we shouldn't dismiss it over word choice in the title.
Of course, this is hacker news, and we come to the comments section to comment on the titles.

Although some people might use "wokeness" as a strawman, it is anything but. Not sure why this makes you so mad. Ignoring it doesn't make the problem go away.
Just a note for people who were a bit confused by the title: this isn’t about woke computer programming, but wokeness programming via liberal institutions like universities

this isn't about musical notes, but written notes for people confused by titles.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I already realised what the title meant, and I'm unsure whether or not what you posted is a test to see if you can evoke the same kind of response that the article writer talked about avoiding -.-
;)
^---EDIT: See that winky face there? That means my comment was meant in good humour, and not to be taken with such seriousness that it merited a downvote. :)

Wtf? Regarding that first paragraph, I'd be asking for my money back if my university were to shove that down my throat.

I’d love an extension to block this kind of baiting nonsense everywhere.
