Based on your reference, I'd say a decision by the SEC to simply audit stable coins would likely collapse the crypto market and could easily trigger a wide market "rug pull" from the exchanges.
In the interest of full disclosure, you may want to just mention this possibility to the beginners.

Casually mention that the entire crypto market is built around this stable coin fantasy which is involved in more than half of all trades.
Then move on to how "exchanges" are self appointed market makers with unknown financial backing, completely unregulated and wide open to collusion and fraud on a market wide scale.
