Ask HN: Are YouTube Comments Working?

I see that there are YouTube comments (i.e. 757 Comments), but I don't see them, only the text box to enter a new one.

In addition to YouTube comments, I can't load Google Photos conversations with people I've shared photos to or activity on shared albums.

I'm on a bottom bin Android device right now, and chalked it up to the instability of the device fucking something up again

Same here. It seems like it's trying to load them though, showing the spinning indicator.

YouTube comments have been broken for me for a while now (a year or two) on Firefox with uBlock. I see the comments list and avatars, but no text. I don't mind it enough to disable uBlock.

Are these errors regional or general? Are there cases where applications such as youtube run services in different versions depending on the region?

I think this is intentional behavior on Google’s part, to disincentivize use of ad blockers.

Same. Have you looked at client vs server? I'm on FF on Linux.
